Gorodskaya Duma Regional Museum

The Gorodskaya Duma Regional Museum was built in the second half of the XIX century and represents an excellent example of the Russian provincial architecture. High stairs and a stepped attic, which make the building more sophisticated, perfectly match a Corinthian portico and massive columns that are common for Government buildings. The permanent exposition, which is called “The Window to the Nature”, gives an insight to the rich flora and fauna of the Tyumen region and lets you to see its ancient inhabitants. An essential part of the museum is a smaller paleontological museum that represents the collection consisted of complete mammoth skeletons, a bison fossil, a woolly rhinoceros and a cave bear. What is more, you can also see botanical, zoological and entomological collections.
