Fine Arts Museum

Founded in 1957 as an art gallery, today the Tyumen Regional Fine Arts Museum is considered one of the best art museums beyond the Urals area. The crown jewel of the Museum is the complete collection of visual arts including the unique collection of Russian portrait painting of the XVIII and the beginning of the XX centuries, paintings of West Siberian artists of the XVII and the XIX centuries as well as works of Soviet and contemporary artists and sculptors. Arts and crafts are presented by the porcelain of Emperor's factory, the collection of carved bone of city of Tobolsk, clay toys and such valuable objects as the English Wedgewood pitcher of the XVIII century and the delftware plate of the XVII century. The permanent exhibition of the Tyumen Fine Arts Museum includes the paintings and sculpture of Soviet artists of the XX century, the carved bone of Tobolsk, the Russian sculpture of 1960-1990, glass, ceramics, porcelain and other.
