Rasputin Museum in Pokrovskoye

During the excursion to the Pokrovskoye Village, you will visit the first private museum founded in 1990 by a married couple. Grigory Rasputin was a friend of the last Russian emperor's Nikolay II family and represents one of the most mysterious and interesting personalities of the end of the XIXth and the beginning of the XXth century. In 1900s, among certain communities of Saint Petersburg's society he had the reputation of a Tsar's family friend, an elder, a seer and a healer. In the exposition, there are belongings of Rasputins' family. A pier glass broken right in the middle symbolises the broken life of its owner. There is the icon of St. Simeon Verhotursky the Righteous highly honoured in Siberia, the plate of the famous Kuznetsovky porcelain factory with the monogram of the empress. Rasputin gave it to his god-daughter Iraida Kolesnikova for a christening. There is an old Viennese chair from the Rasputins' house. There is also an authentic platband from the famous house of Rasputin, the only thing remained of the building.
