Tyumen Drama Theater

The history of Tyumen theatre art has its roots in 19th century when students of Tyumen teacher college for the first time started to gave perfomances right in the streets of Tyumen. During its history the theatre changed its location many times. In 2008 the new building for Tyumen Drama Theatre was built. It is located on the square of 400th anniversary of Tyumen which was abandoned for long period of time. Now the square is adorned with a beautiful palace with facade and pillars. Area of the theatre is 36 thousand square metres. It means that this is the biggest drama theatre in Russia. Architecture of the theatre is distinguished by classic forms, huge pillars. Stucco moulding reminds us of Moscow Bolshoi Theatre. The uniqueness of this building is in the fact it was erected for 1 year and 8 months only and has underground parking for 120 places. An interior of the theatre is made in accordance with the exterior luxurious view. Big hall has 777 seats, small hall 205 seats.
