Mardegot Synogogue

History of Tyumen takes its roots in 1911 when in Tyumen on Spasskaya street under the leadership of Yalutorovsk rabbi Isanstadt the synagogue was founded. Local Jewish community provided the building of synagogue. A year later in 1912 a solemn opening ceremony. After the October Revolution of 1917 the building of synagogue was used as a dormitory, storage, library and even music school. As a result it fell to desolation and needed a capital repair. In 1993 Jewish religious organization received this building. They started its restoration in 1997 and in 2001 it was already completely rebuilt. Igor Varkin has become a new rabbi of the synagogue. Traditionally Muslim and Christian communities arrange festivals of their culture here.
